On foot: trails, races and paths

If you like walking or running, the Néouvielle nature reserve is a must. In fact, it’s a real running spot. In the Aure valley, in the heart of the Hautes-Pyrénées, this protected natural area offers breathtaking landscapes and postcard-perfect scenery. On a walk, you’ll be able to observe hooked pines and over 70 lakes, as well as its unique flora and fauna. Created in 1968 in its current form, it isone of the first nature reserves in France, and is located in the extension of the Parc National des Pyrénées.

To combine the discovery of this natural heritage by a wide public with the protection of the flora and fauna, a set of regulations has been drawn up. Their main aim is to inform hikers about the best way to behave. Don’t hesitate to read them. Neouvielle nature reserve leaflet.

To mark the 100th anniversary of the Orédon laboratory (Néouvielle Nature Reserve), the Pays d’art et d’histoire department of the Communauté de communes Aure Louron and the Parc National des Pyrénées have joined forces to publish a brochure that can be downloaded here.
